Basic facts refers to those facts that people are expected to know automatically. The basic addition facts, and related subtraction facts, range from 0+0=0 to 10+10=20. Research shows that the most effective way for students to learn the basic facts is to arrange the facts into groups. Each group is based on a strategy that students can use to help them learn that cluster of facts.
